Healthy Snacks to boost growth

Nuts

Brazil nuts are one of nature’s best sources of selenium, which is an important mineral for the health of your scalp.

Walnuts contain alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that helps to condition your hair. They are also full of zinc, as are cashews, pecans and almonds. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding, so make sure that you always have a bag of nuts handy for when you need a quick snack!

Avocado

Avocados contain high amounts of vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp.
A diet low in these two Vitamins may cause hair to grow at an extremely low pace and may even cause hair loss.
If you cannot make yourself like avocados

then we suggest blending it up into a smoothie and you wont even know it’s there :-)

Berries

Berries are full of B vitamins and Folic Acid, these are essential when it comes to taking total care of your hair. From hair fall to greying, these vitamins are imperative for better hair growth. Why not add some to your yogurt or porridge for a fruity pick me up.

Carrots

Carrots contain Collagen. When you are young, you have an abundance of collagen in your body, which is why young children have such lovely shiny hair and smooth skin. It is referred to as the cement which holds everything together. As you age collagen production declines and weakening of the skin occurs; this is when skin wrinkles, necks become saggy, lines form around eyes and mouth. Slow down this process by snacking on Carrots with healthy dips such as Hummus and homemade Guacamole

Citrus Fruits

The super vit! These are super easy to fit into your diet, by just having two satsumas or an orange with lunch you could be making a huge difference to your hair health. Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant, providing protection for your hair from toxins. It also helps you produce Collagen, which is necessary for hair production. Citrus fruits, such as oranges and grapefruits, including juices, are good sources of vitamin C.

Milk In addition to containing Calcium and other beneficial nutrients to the body, Milk also contains Biotin which was mentioned previously. Why not make yourself a smoothie using milk when you are feeling peckish? See below for Hairburst’s special hair booster smoothie recipe :-)
